About Sermorelin

Sermorelin is the first 29 amino acids of growth hormone releasing hormone, which is the shortest fragment that retains full biological activity. The remaining 15 amino acids of native GHRH contribute nothing to receptor binding, so sermorelin behaves as GHRH does while being far simpler to manufacture.
It works by binding the GHRH receptor on the pituitary and prompting it to release its own stored growth hormone. That is a meaningfully different proposition from injecting somatropin: the pituitary remains the regulator, the release stays pulsatile, and negative feedback through somatostatin and IGF-1 continues to operate. The practical consequence is a ceiling on how far it can push GH, which is a limitation and a safety characteristic at the same time.
Sermorelin held a US medicines licence for many years as Geref, used in the diagnostic assessment of pituitary function and in paediatric growth hormone deficiency. It was withdrawn from that market for commercial reasons rather than on safety grounds, which is an unusual position for a compound in this category.

Where the evidence sits: sermorelin has genuine human clinical history, including a former US licence and use as a pituitary function test, so its mechanism is not speculative. What is absent is evidence for the way it is discussed now: long term administration in healthy adults for body composition or ageing. It holds no current Europe licence.

The pen format
At 15mg this is one of the larger single compound pens in the range, which matters because sermorelin has a short half life and the protocols in the literature are frequent rather than sparse. 30 full 500mcg draws come out of one pen.

Choosing between Sermorelin, Tesamorelin and the GHRPsSermorelin and tesamorelin are both GHRH analogues acting at the same receptor. Tesamorelin is the stabilised version, carrying a trans-3-hexenoyl group that resists the enzyme which degrades sermorelin within minutes, so it lasts longer and hits harder. It also holds a current medicines licence for visceral fat in HIV lipodystrophy, which sermorelin does not. Tesamorelin is the stronger and better evidenced of the two; sermorelin is the gentler and cheaper, with the pituitary kept more firmly in charge.The GHRP compounds and ipamorelin are not alternatives to either.
